Next Step Pathways is moving to a new place next summer.
Now housed at 7155 80th Street South off East Point Douglas, the District 833 transition program will move to the southwest corner of 70th and Jamaica, otherwise known as the Light the Way Church property. The church congregation was founded in 1970 and will remain as tenants until June, with construction starting in July 2025.
Construction to meet needs for Next Step Pathways will see the property remodeled and expanded to include with a learning space and 9,000 square foot building addition. Also included in plans are a culinary lab, makers space, horticulture learning lab and work-based learning experience and specialized sensory spaces. Move in for the new home of Next Step Pathways is set for 2026.
