Norgaard, Weston lead swimmers, divers

Park junior Amber Norgaard took third in the 500yard freestyle in a time of 5:43.62 to highlight the Wolfpack’s efforts in the marathon 2022 Tartan Invite Saturday.

Twelve teams and hundreds of swimmers competed in the meet.

Park finished seventh in the team race with 172 points. The meet was won by Maple Grove with 408 points.

Alayna Faletti finished fourth out of 58 swimmers in the 50-yard freestyle in 27.67 and finished sixth in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:09.93.

Park’s quartet of Norgaard, Faletti, Afton LeMay and Arachi O’Brien finished fourth in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 4:04.73.

LeMay was sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:16.80 and 13th in the 100-yeard butterfly in 1:11.64.

Park sophomore Sarah Weston placed sixth in the 1-meter diving with a score of 288.10.

Norgaard was seventh in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:10.48.

Park was ninth in the 200yard medley relay with the team of Arachi O’Brien, Afton LeMay, Amber Norgaard and Alayna Faletti finishing in 2:07.65. The Park team of Lilianna Morris, Ellie Imdieke, Danika Rowan and Kaylynn Sowada was ninth in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 2:04.89.

– Weston set a personal record of 184.75 points in winning the 1-mneter diving competition to highlight Park’s swimming and diving meet against Cretin- Derham Hall Thursday, Cretin won the dual meet 95-81.

Faletti finished second in the 500-yard in 6:22.06.

Park was third in the 200-yard medley relay in 2:19.72 with the team of Zoe Pfeiffer, Imdieke, Eraya Nybakken and Lilianna Morris. Park had a time of 1:50.50 in the 200-yard freestyle relay with the team of Norgaard, LeMay, O’Brien and Faletti. The 400-yard freestyle team of O’Brien, Kaylynn Sowada, Morris and Danika Rowan finished first in 4:30.24.

O’Brien was third in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:21.95.

Norgaard finished first in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:09.90 and was third in the 50-yard freestyle in 27.05.

Nybakken was fourth in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:16.74.

LeMay took first in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:17.68 and finished fourth in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:02.25.

Park host Forest Lake Thursday at Cottage Grove Middle School, starting at 6:30 p.m.
