LETTER to the Editor
To the editor:
I subscribe to your newspaper and read the article on the last School Board meeting. It talked about the people that came to the meeting with signs protesting the book “Gender Queer” that is in the Hastings Public School Library.
I ordered this book online to see what all the controversy was about. I was disappointed that this book was in the school library. I was curious why you whited-out the sign so that what was on it could not be seen by your readers? So, the material and graphics in this book are okay for students to view/read/ checkout in the school library but not appropriate for the general public to view in your paper?
