Norgaard leads Park swimmers

Junior sprinter Amber Norgaard won two individual events and swam a winning anchor leg as Park hosted Irondale Thursday in a girls swimming meet.

Irondale edged Park in the team race, 99-85. Norgaard won the 50-yard freestyle in 26.62 and finished first in the 100-yard freestyle in 57.27. Norgaard brought the 200-yard freestyle relay home with a win in a time of 1:51.09. Afton LeMay, Alayna Faletti and Arachi O’Brien swam the other legs on the winning relay.

LeMay won the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:32.48 and finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:19.34).

Park was second in the 200-yard medley relay (O’Brien, LeMay, Norgaard and Faletti) 2:06.44. Faletti finished second in the 100-yard butterfly (1:10.26). Park clocked a time of 4:40.10 in the 400-yard freestyle relay with the foursome of Ellie Imdieke, Lilianna Morris, Eraya Nybakken and Danika Rowan.

Diver Sarah Weston was third with a 173.35 score. Imdieke finished third in both the 200-yard freestyle (2:25.46) and the 500-yard freestyle (6:21.93), Park hosts Stillwater Thursday, Sept. 8, in a meet starting at 6 p.m. at the middle school.

Girls soccer blanks Highland Park

Josie Leonard and Olivia Opichka each punched in goals to lead the Park High Wolfpack to a 2-0 victory over visiting Highland Park in girls’ soccer Thursday.

It was the first win of the young season for the Wolfpack.

Taylar Nadler scored on assist for the Wolfpack.

Park, now 1-1-1 overall, hosts Stillwater Wednesday with a 7 p.m. start time.

Park boys soccer falls to Eagan

Park dropped a 4-0 decision to host Eagan in boys soccer Saturday.

The Wolfpack fell to 0-1-1 on the season. Park hosts Stillwater Wednesday, Sept. 7, in a 5 p.m. contest.
