Park boys, girls both third in cross country meet

Park’s boys' and girls' teams each ran to a third-place team finish as the Wolfpack hosted the Grey Cloud Cross Country Invitational Thursday afternoon.

East Ridge placed six runners in the top nine in the boys 5K to win the five-team title with 21 points. Hastings was second with 56, followed by Park, 69; Trinity School at River Ridge, 107; and Cretin-Derham Hall, 140.

Gavin Stauffer led Park with a fourth-place finish in 17:38.89. Eli Firchau was sixth in a time of 17:43.39. Jack Weir placed 16th in 19:06.35. Miles Kaiser was 21st in 19:34.62. Sam Craig finished 26th in 19:57.80. Cooper Williams was 31st in 20:29.34, Ben Paulsen 33rd in 20:58.97 and Braden McLoughlin 32nd in 21:03.75.

Hastings won the girls 5K team race with 21 points, followed by East Ridge with 34 and Park with 78.

Hollen Thompson led the Park girls with a 14th-place finish in 25:30.92. Suzie Mbu was 17th in 25:58. 30, Aria Waletzko 20thin 26:48.91, Allie Devine was 23rd in 27:28.48, Hailey Kieffer 26th in 28:07.97, Tenley Nelson was 29th in 29:03.71 and Tori Henderson 35th in 38:09.68.

Park’s runners will compete Thursday in a 12-team meet at St. Croix Regional Park, starting at 4 p.m. Other teams running include Burnsville, Cretin-Derham Hall, Eagan, East Ridge, Hastings, Nova Classical Academy, Osseo, St. Thomas Academy, St. Croix Preparatory Academy, Tartan and Woodbury.
