Park Grove Library featured events for September All Washington County Library branches will be closed on Monday, Sept. 5 for the Labor Day holiday. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Featured Events Contraption Club Thursday, September 1 from 3 to 5 P.M.

Learn how to use new technology to make almost anything! Participants will have access to 3D printing, laser cutting, coding robots, soldering, Cricut cutting machines, computerized embroidery, and more. For ages 9-12. This workshop is funded in part with a grant from the Minnesota Department of Education. Registration is not required.

Ticket to Brasil Thursday, September 1 from 1 to 2 P.M.

Enjoy this unique international ensemble on an inspiring journey through the sounds and rhythms of one of the richest musical cultures in the world! Ticket to Brasil has performed at many local and national events, including the MN Orchestra SommerFest, Twin Cities Jazz Festival, and the Minnesota State Fair. Registration is not required. This program is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Open-Ended Art for Adults: Bottlecap Magnets Tuesday, September 6 from 6 to 7:30 P.M.

Join us for an art experience just for adults. Create original magnets using bottle caps, magazines, and resin. No in-person teaching instruction is provided during this program. Registration is required. Register in person, online at Wash-CoLib.org/Events, or call 651-459-2040.

Take and Make: Build Your Own Ferris Wheel Wednesday, September 7 Have you ever wondered how the rides at the Minnesota State Fair work? Put your engineering skills to the test by creating your own iconic Ferris Wheel! Pick up the supplies at Park Grove Library and complete the project at home. Recommended for ages 6-12. Registration is not required.

Tiny Art Fair Pick Up: Magical Forest Creatures Monday, September 12 from 12 to 8 P.M.

Pick up a Tiny Art Fair kit to create your own tiny magical forest creatures. Return your forest creatures to the library by October 3 to be featured in the display case. You’ll be able to pick up your artwork in early November. No registration is required.

Sometimes it can be confusing to know which items are accepted or not accepted for recycling. Learn about wish-cycling, the common items that often fall in this category, and tips on how to recycle better! Registration is not required.
