Park leaps into the track season

Park had three senior jumpers in the top 10 in the triple jump to highlight a season-opening White Bear Lake relays Thursday. Eyuel Miftah was third with a jump of 40-02.25, Skyler Morgan fourth at 40-00.5 and Bryan Wright 10th at 38-05.25.
Park sophomore Eli Firchau finished sixth and ran a 4:44.74 in the 1,600 and junior Gavin Stauffer was ninth in 4:48.98, both setting personal records in the race. Henry Joa was 18th in 5:03.11, his PR as well.
Dominic Jenkins placed fifth in the 300-meter hurdles in a PR of 44.27. Miftah was 11th in the same race in 45.91.
Morgan was 19th in the 100 (12.11), 17th in the 200 (24.46) and 16th in the long jump (18-06.25). Taiwo Fiyinfoluwa was 14th in the 200 (24.31), Cooper Williams placed 16th in the 400 (56.64) and was 19th in the 110-meter high hurdles (19.85).
In the throws, Park senior Taran Blasy was 19th in the shot put (38-02) and Adam Boche 23rd at 36-05. Boche was 23rd in the discus with a throw of 96-04. Hazim King finished tied for sixth in the high jump ay 5-8. O’neal Attisso tied for ninth at 5-6.
Park finished sixth in the team race.
White Bear Area was first with 133.98 points, Mounds View second with 131.97, Stillwater third with 123.96, Woodbury fourth with 119, Roseville fifth with 93, Park sixth with 56, East Ridge seventh with 53.96, Irondale eighth with 43.99, Forest Lake ninth with 36.5 and Cretin-Derham Hall 10th with 16.49 points.
In the Knights Under the Lights meet Friday at Irondale results were not available.

Park’s girls compete Thursday in the White Bear Lake Invite, starting at 4 p.m. The Wolfpack boys and girls teams then go to the Tom Moore Invite at Woodbury on April 25.
