Park’s road warriors improved to 3-0 on the young season Friday with a 4-1 victory against Mounds View/Irondale at the National Sports Center.

Wolfpack skates to 3-0 in girls' hockey

Park’s road warriors improved to 3-0 on the young season Friday with a 4-1 victory against Mounds View/Irondale at the National Sports Center.

The Wolfpack spread the scoring around in the game, with Lauren Osland, Alaina Post, Maggie Jensen and Natalie Post each notching one goal. Park scored in just about every way possible, notching one short-handed goal, one power play score and two even strength goals. Sam Miller, Alaina Post, Stella Daly recorded assists.

Aubree Laska got the win in the net, stopping 12 of 13 shots for a .923 success rate.

Park led 2-1 after one and 4-1 after two Friday.

Park’s magic number seems to be four so far this season. The Wolfpack have won their three opening games 4-2, 4-3 and 4-1.

Park plays at Apple Valley Saturday, starting at 2 p.m.

Thunderbolts tumble at state tournament

The South Washington County Thunderbolts dropped a 6-1 decision in consolation play Saturday morning to be eliminated from the 2023 state CI Adapted Soccer Tournament at Stillwater High School.

The Thunderbolts lost 6-1 to St. Paul Johnson in consolation play. Earlier, the team lost 6-1 on Friday to the Dakota United Hawks in the quarterfinals.
