Park defeated visiting St. Paul Harding Friday, but dropped matches with Hastings and Visitation Saturday in girls tennis.

The Wolfpack easily handled Harding 6-1 on Friday. In Saturday’s matches Park lost to Hastings 5-2 in the early match, then lost to Visitation 7-0.

Park’s top singles player Kate Townsend missed Saturday’s matches with a calf injury but is expected to be back on the court this week. Her absence hurt the Wolfpack’s chances in Saturday’s play.

Park’s Abby Fjelstra and Dana Petrie won at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively, against Hastings Saturday. Fjelstra won a hard-fought 7-5, 7-5 match at No. 2 singles. Petrie won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.

On Friday, Park won everything but the No. 1 singles match. Scoring wins for the Wolfpack were: Fjelstra at No. 2 singles (6-0, 6-2), Petrie at No. 3 singles (6-0, 6-0) and Grace Townsend at No. 4 singles (forfeit).

Park’s three doubles teams swept Friday’s matches: Hannah Holmgren and Jenna Mahnke winning at No. 1 doubles (6-3, 6-2), Becky Etten and Amanda Petersen at No. 2 doubles (2-6, 7-5, 10-6) and Morgan and Finley Leick at No. 3 doubles (6-1, 7-5).
