Davis leads 13th-ranked gymnastics team

Park’s Ashley Davis won the battle, but the host and 11th-ranked Forest Lake Rangers won the gymnastics way Friday.

Davis captured another all-around crown, winning with 35.625 points. Forest Lake won the team title, 136.675 to 13th-ranked Park’s score of 132.1. She won the vault (9.075) and bars (8.55) and finished second on the beam (8.7) and on the floor (9.3).

Makayla Bollman of the Wolfpack finished sixth in the all around with 33.0 points. Eleanor Thompson was seventh with 22.975. Alice Wood had a 16.4 score, Luella Erling a 15.275, Natalie Peters a 15.25, Audrey Reimers a 14.975 and Sofia Reimers an 8.075.

Bollman was third on the vault (8.7), fifth on bars (7.825), eighth on beam (8.075) and sixth on the floor (8.4).

On the vault, Thompson was seventh (8.225), Sofia Reimers ninth (8.075) and Audrey Reimers 10th (7.95).

Peters was seventh on the bars (7.525), Erling eighth (7.425) and Thompson 10th (6.775).

Wood finished seventh on the beam (8.075), Thompson ninth (7.975) and Audrey Reimers 10th (7.025).

Wood took sixth on floor (8.325), Erling ninth (7.85) and Peters 10th (7.725).

Park competes at Stillwater Friday, Jan. 2.

Bailey’s OT goal lifts boys' hockey team to win

Nick Bailey slammed in the winning goal in overtime to lift the visiting Park Wolfpack to a 4-3 win over host Roseville Wednesday in Suburban East Conference boys' hockey.

It was Park’s fourth straight win after starting the season 0-4-1.

Park jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Kayden Hoberg and Owen Mordorski. The two teams battled to a 1-all tie in the second and Park led 3-1 after two periods. Jaxson Yates gave Park its score in the second.

Roseville then outscored Park 2-0 in the third to tie the game at three-all.

Bailey secured the winning goal just 1:16 into the first overtime period.

Henry Voss got the goal keeping win, stopping 25 of 28 Roseville shots.

Chase Nadler, Malachi McMorrow, Hoberg, Gavin Sand and Yates had assists for the Wolfpack.

Park (4-4-1, 3-3) now had four straight non-conference contests, beginning with Hudson (5-1) on Saturday, Dec. 27 at 2 p.m., followed by a game at Prior Lake on Tuesday, Dec. 30, a game at Two Rivers on Jan. 2 and then play Eastview at Apple Valley Sports Arena on Saturday, Jan. 3. Woodbury visits Cottage Grove Ice Arean on Wednesday, Jan. 7.

Girls hockey team falls to Mounds View

Park’s struggles in the Suburban East Conference this season continued Thursday as the Wolfpack cropped a 3-0 decision to Mounds View/Irondale at the National Sports Center.

It was Park’s third 0-3 loss in the past six games.

The Wolfpack fell to 2-7 in the SEC and 4-8 on the season.

Hailey Garcia got the start in goal and stopped 26 of 29 shots.

The Wolfpack play Monday-Wednesday, Dec 29-31 in the seven team AC Girls Holiday Classic in the at New Hope Ice Arena. Park then hosts East Ridge Thursday, Jan. 8 at Cottage Grove Ice Arena, starting at 7 p.m.


Relay sweeps key Park swim and dive victory

Park’s relays teams swept to lead the way as the Wolfpack swam and dove to a 99-84 victory over visiting Cretin-Derham Hall in boys swimming Thursday at Cottage Grove Middle School.

The 200-medley relay team of Ethan Cole, Paul Wallace, Lalee Yang and Damion Charpentier won in a time of 1:49.71. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Wallace, Will Mann, Gage Davis and Zachary Wood finished first in 1:49.65. Finally, the 400-yard freestyle relay quartet of Cole, Yang, Parker Stueber and Charpentier took gold in 3:46.51.

It was an all-around successful night for the Wolfpack.

Yang won the 50-yard freestyle in 24.62, Cole finished first in the 100-yard freestyle (50.88), Stueber won the 500-yard freestyle (5:40.16) and Wallace won the breaststroke (1:08.65).

Park’s divers swept with Ethyn Schilling winning (230.65), John Jaso second (211.15), and Carter Darling third (196.50).

Stueber was second in the 200 freestyle (2:09.13), Charpentier was second in the 200-yard IM (2:15.16) and the 100-yard butterfly (59.12), Cole was second in the backstroke (1:00.98).

Park competes against Woodbury Jan. 8 at Oltman Middle School pool.


Thunderbolts go to 2-1 in floor hockey

The South Washington Country Thunderbolts swept two games last week to move to 2-1 in the young adapted floor hockey season.

The Thunderbolts (2-1) hammered visiting Owatonna 15-3 at Pak on Dec. 15, then took a narrow 9-8 decision at Lakeville/Burnsville/Farmington.

The team plays at Shakopee/Chanhassen/Chaska/Prior Lake net on Jan. 7.
