Hudson surges late to beat Park
Visiting Hudson took a 6-3 decision over Park Saturday at the Cottage Grove Ice Arena.
After a 1-all tie in the first period, Hudson led 3-2 after two. But the third period was the killer for Park as Hudson scored three goals to one for the Wolfpack.
Hayden Bellinger, Malachi McMorrow and Kayden Hoberg scored for the Wolfpack. McMorrow had the only assist for the Wolfpack.
In goal, Henry Voss stopped 23 of 29 shots.
Park is now 5-5-1 on the season and 3-3 in the Suburban East Conference.
Park plays at Two Rivers Friday at the West St. Paul Arena, starting at 6 p.m.
Park 7, Mankato West 2
Nick Bailey’s two first-period goal jump started the Park Wolfpack in a 7-2 win over visiting Mankato West at Cottage Grove Ice Arena Tuesday, Dec. 23.
Bailey scored at 6:33 of the first period then added another tally at 10:19 as the Wolfpack took a 2-0 lead.
Park improved to 5-4-1 on the season with the win, its fifth straight after a slow start to the season.
Kayden Hoberg scored two goals for Park, while Malachi McMorrow, Gavin Sand and Jaxson Yates each added one. Luke Dahlstrom and Sand had two assists for the Wolfpack, while Yates, Owen Mordorski and Bailey had one each.
Park led 2-0 after one period and 4-2 after two.
Henry Voss got the goaltending win, stopping 21 of 23 shots for a .913 win rate.
Park skates past White Bear Lake
Four different Park players scored as the Wolfpack took a 4-2 win from White Bear Lake in Suburban East Conference girls hockey Tuesday, Dec. 23.
Nora Thurmes got Park started quickly with a first period goal just 1:14 into the game. Stella Daly made ti a 2-1 edge at the 16:00 minutes mark. Avery Tait and Maleah McMorrow then scored for a 4-1 Park advantage.
Addie Corkish and Alyssa Hill had two assists each, Ava Taschner and Thurmes one each.
Hailey Garcia got the net win, stopping 42 of 44 shots for a .955 win rate.
Park improved tis record to 5-8 overall and 3-7 in the SEC. White Bear Lake fell to 4-10-1 on the season and 2-6-1 in the conference.
Boys basketball team wins again
Park scored a 74-68 non-conference win Dec. 23 at Centennial, moving to 6-1 on the season.
