SEC lacrosse teams fare well
Suburban East Conference teams did well in the recently completed state lacrosse championships.
In girls lacrosse. Minnetonka topped Buffalo 14-10 to win the Class A state championship.
Buffalo edged SEC champion Stillwater 11-10 in the semifinals. Stillwater went on to finish third with a 10-8 victory over Edina.
Edina knocked out Cretin-Derham Hall in the quarterfinals. Wayzata then edged Cregin 7-6 for the consolation crown.
Park lost to Stillwater 5-4 during the regular season and then fall 11-4 to Cetin in the Section 3 championship.
In boys lacrosse, Farmington edged SEC winner Stillwater 10-9 for the Class A state title.
East Ridge, with former Park star Bradley Johnson leading the way, finished third at state with a 15-8 win over Wayzata.
Park High sports will be off until fall
Park High athletes will have two and a half to three months to prepare for the fall sports season.
The first events for the Wolfpack will be girls swimming and diving on Aug. 27, girls tennis on Sept. 1 and boys and girls soccer on Sept. 10.
