Boys soccer team slips to 0-2-2

Four games in, but the Wolfpack are still struggling to put the ball in the back of the net.

Park fell to 0-2-2 on the season this week with a 2-0 loss at home to Apple Valley on Tuesday and then a 1-0 loss at Roseville Thursday.

The Wolfpack have managed just three goals in the opening four games of the 2026 season.

A tough opening half doomed the host Wolfpack Tuesday in a 2-0 loss to visiting Apple Valley.

“I’m still saying like still got to keep our head up,” said Park head coach Andrew Bourgoine. “We’re not playing – the first half was bad, I’ll admit the first half was bad. I don’t even know what team that was. And they scored two goals on us and the guys just looked lethargic or something like that. So first wasn’t good but the second half we looked better and we had more the run of play its just we’re still not finishing right now. We had four really good chances -- one v one vs. the keeper and either we dribble it to him or the goalie made a really good save. Like one was a really good save, the other three were just tapping to the goalie.

“We’ve just got to, we’re just trying to hit it too hard and they’re just mis-hitting the ball. We’ve just got to pass into the net,” Bourgoine added. “When you’re one-to-one with the keeper it’s not about power it’s about placement. Other than that the guys just have to keep their heads up and we’ll be fine. We’re just got to figure it out and we’ve got to figure it out quick because losing to section opponents like that is not good for section seeding.”

Park plays at Cretin-Derham Hall (3-2-1) Thursday with a 7 p.m. start., goes to Eastview on Saturday, with an 11 a.m. game time and hosts White Bear Lake (3-1-1) Tuesday starting at 5 p.m.

Girls soccer team goes 1-1-1 on the week

Park dropped a 3-1 decision at Eastview in girls soccer Saturday, slipping to 3-2-2 on the season.

After a scoreless first half, the hosts dominated the second period.

Sadie Osland scored Park’s only goal in the game.

Park 2, Roseville 0

Senior forward Chloe Storm and sophomore forward Shayanne Brooks each scored a goal – one in each half --as the Park Wolfpack took a 2-0 decision at Roseville Thursday in its Suburban East Conference girls soccer opener.

Ainsley Lucas battled 1,000 in goal, stopping all four shots she faced for the Wolfpack.

The Wolfpack improved to 3-1-2 on the season with the win.

Park 1, Apple Valley 1

The Wolfpack rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit to earn a 1-1 tie against visiting Apple Valley Tuesday at Wolfpack Stadium.

Senior Kylee Nickle got the tying goal in the second half with an assist to Hanna Williams.

Park goalie Ainsley Lucas had five saves in six Apple Valley shots for an .833 success rate.

The Wolfpack play at Cretin-Derham Hall (0-5-1) Thursday, then host White Bear Lake (4-2) Tuesday.
