Hafiz’s fourth place keys Wolfpack cross country team
Senior Jana Hafiz’s fourth place finish in a time of 21:45.6 led the park girls to a third-place team finish in the six-team Red Wing Invite Thursday.
Park’s girls were third in the team race with 69 points. RAACHE put seven runners in the top nine to easily win the meet with just 21 points. East Ridge was second with 64, Park third with 69, Woodbury fourth with 104, Red Wing fifth with 107 and Randolph sixth with 180.
Park senior Alli Devine was 13th in 22:48.7, followed by Bella Walker 16th (23:25.5), Mya Albrecht 17th (23:26.5), Ramsey Nelson 19th (23:39.3), 26th Chloe Peters (24:25.6) and Alaina Murphy 28th (24:28.2).
Park distance ace Henry Joa missed the meet.
The Wolfpack boys were led by seniors Liam Fleming, who finished seventh in 18:00.2 and Ben Paulsen who was eighth in 18:20.3.
Marshall Bowe was 17th (19:28.1), Jay Halstead Delgado 28th (20:29.4), Bentley Heise 29th (20:39.6) and Will Mann 36th (22:34.8).
RAACHE won the boys team with 37 points, followed by East Ridge, 63; Red Wing, 67; Park, 89; Woodbury, 105; and Randolph 162.
Park now has an idle week. Next up for the Wolfpack is the Simley Invite on Oct. 10.
Boys soccer team remains winless
White Bear Lake 2, Park 0
Visiting White Bear Lake downed the host Wolfpack 2-0 in Suburban East Conference boys soccer Tuesday.
The Wolfpack continue to struggle on offense, having scored just four goal in eight games this season.
Woodbury 2, Park 1
The host Royals took a tight 2-1 decision from visiting Park on a soggy Thursday afternoon in what is proving to be a frustrating 2026 season so for the Wolfpack.
Neither team scored in the first half, then the Royals punched in a pair after the break.
It was the 13th straight Woodbury (5-3-2, 3-1-1) win in the long series.
Park dropped to 0-6-3 on the season and 0-4-1 in the SEC.
Minnetonka 5, Park 1
Minnetonka (7-3-2) took a 5- decision from visiting Park in a non-conference match Saturday afternoon.
The Wolfpack remained winless on the season through 10 games.
Park (0-4-1, 0-7-3) plays at Mounds View (2-2-1, 3-5-2) Thursday at 7 p.m., then hosts Hastings (4-8-0) Saturday with a 3 p.m. start.
Park girls soccer team drops two
White Bear Lake 10, Park 0
Visiting White Bear Lake hung a 10-0 score on the host Wolfpack Tuesday, by far Park’s biggest loss of the season.
Park’s regular goalie Ainsley Lucas missed the game, and the Wolfpack obviously missed her in the net.
Woodbury 4, Park 1
Host Woodbury took a 4-1 decision in Suburban East Conference girls soccer on a rainy Thursday.
Park slipped to 2-3 in the SEC and 4-5-2 on the season. Woodbury improved to 3-2 in the conference and evened its season record at 5-5.
The Wolfpack plays at Mounds View Thursday in a girl-boy doubleheader with the girls game starting at 5 p.m.
Tough week for girls tennis team
“Our team fought hard last week but played three very talented teams,” said head coach Tony Townsend. “Alaina Post had an impressive win vs. Stillwater and lost in a super close match vs. Forest Lake.”
Eagan 7, Park 0
Park was blanked in a dual meet at Eagan, falling 7-0.
Stillwater 6, Park 1
Park’s Alaina Post had the only win for the Wolfpack Tuesday, taking down her Stillwater opponent at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-3.
Nada Hafiz dropped a close one at No. 4 singles, losing 2-6, 6-4, (6-10).
Forest Lake 7, Park 0
Alaina Post lost a tough one at No. 2 singles, falling 6-7 (9-7), 6-1 and (5-10.), Clara Wright and Olivia Hasssebrock also lost in three sets, 6-2, 0-6 and 2-6.
Park plays at Roseville Thursday in the final dual meet of the season then begins section play on Oct. 5.
