Girls’ soccer

Park dropped a 1-0 decision in girls’ soccer at Cretin-Derham Hall Monday to fall to 4-3 on the season.

Kenzie Harer kicked in a pair of goals to lead Park to a 4-0 win at Tartan on Saturday.

Megan Korth had a goal and an assist for the Wolfpack. Olivia Opichka scored a goal, while Sam Miller and Marrisa Kieman each had an assist.

Shelby Hansen had three saves in goal to record her second shutout of the season.

Park lost a 5-0 decision to Stillwater on Thursday, Sept. 9.

Park improved to 3-1 on the season with a 4-1 home win against visiting Apple Valley Tuesday, Sept. 7. In that game the Wolfpack spread the goals around, with Emma Taschner, Maggie Jensen, Tori Stepka and Korth scoring. Harer had a pair of assists. Hansen got the win in goal for the Wolfpack.

Park hosts Roseville Wednesday, starting at 7 p.m.

Boys’ soccer

Park remains fit to be tied this season.

Playing at Cretin-Derham Hall on Monday, the Wolfpack tied the Raiders 1-all. It was Park’s fourth tie in seven games this season.

Charlie Gutzman scored Park’s only goal of the game against Cretin.

Park tied host Stillwater 0-0 in overtime Wednesday in boys’ soccer, the Wolfpack’s third scoreless tie of the season.

Park (2-1-4) hosts Roseville Wednesday, starting at 5 p.m. It’s only Park’s second home game of the season so far.

Cross country

Park senior Parker Hahn finished third and Park was fifth in the boys’ varsity team competition in the 2021 Dewey Minnehart cross country race at St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park Thursday.

Hahn came in with a time of 16:47.03.

Other Park finishers were: Gavin Stauffer, 17th, 18:08.48; Dale Kirsch, 20th, 18:17.94; Bronson Stachowiak, 42nd, 19:09.49; Samuel Larson, 44th, 19:12.95; Brandon Carver, 53rd, 19:37.76, and Justin Kasa, 54th, 19:39.40.

Sean McNiesh of East Ridge won the boys race in 16:22.03.

East Ridge won the boys team competition with 62 points, followed by: 2, Eagan, 17:58.17; 3, Burnsville, 92; 4, St. Thomas Academy, 95; 5, Park, 117; 6, Osseo, 130; 7, Hastings, 144; 8, Tartan, 201 and 9, STPA, 231.

In the girls race Park junior Lydia Best was 14th in a time of 22:53.00. Sophomore Ava Radel finished 27th in 24:20.06.

East Ridge’s Halle Mestery won the individual girl title in a time of 18:24.79.
