Park gymnastics vault past Roseville
Emily Dahlstrom and Makayla Bollman finished first and second in the allaround to lead the Park Wolfpack to a 132.100 to 125,100 over the Roseville Raiders in girls’ gymnastics Thursday.
Dahlstrom finished first in the all-around with a score of 33.950. Bollman was second with a 33.025 and Rainna Jameson fourth with a score of 31.800. Dahlstrom and Jameson each won two individual events, Dahlstrom the floor and beam, Jameson the vault and bars, while Bollman tied for first on the beam.
Jameson won the vault with a score of 8.525, Dahlstrom was third with an 8.475 and Natalie Peters fourth with an 8.3.
Jameson also won the bars with a score of 8,375. Dahlstrom was with (7.775) and Bollman fourth (7.750). Ruby Igl was sixth in the event (7.4) and Ashley Lentz seventh (7.025).
Dahlstrom (8.650), Bollman (8.650) and Clara Opichka (8.350) swept the top three places on the beam.
On the floor it was Dahlstrom (9.050), Jameson (8.525), Bollman (8.425) and Opichka (8.3) taking the top four places.
Park relay teams fare well in conference opener Park swam to first in the boys 400-yard freestyle relay and had four second- place finishes in the season-opening Suburban East Conference relays Thursday at Stillwater.
Park’s team of Mitchell LeMay, Jackson Harre, Mason Darling and Parker Jeseritz swam the 400-yard freestyle relay in a winning time of 3:35.60. That same foursome finished second in the 400-yard medley relay in a time of 3:51.95.
Park’s Hayden Bonner, David Laes, Zack Crook and Logan Schweigert was second in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:50.58. Park’s team of Crook, Logan and Jack Schweigert and Jeseritz was second in the 200-yard backstroke relay in 1:57.10.
The Wolfpack diving team took second with a score of 112.35.
Park was third in the 400yard (4×100) relay with the foursome of LeMay, Harre, Jack Schweigert and Darling in 4:09.68. The Wolfpack quartet of Logan Schweigert, Bonner, Luke Dockendorf and Jack Schweigert was third in the 200-yard butterfly relay in 2:00.16.
Park was sixth in the 800yard freestyle relay with Zack Crook, Laes, Dockendorf and Zack Norgaard.
Girls hockey team drops a pair Park’s three-game winning streak to start the season receded further into the background Saturday night ads the host Wolfpack dropped a 2-0 decision to visiting Forest Lake.
The Wolfpack slipped to 0-2 in the Suburban East Conference and 3-5 overall.
Forest Lake ran its record to 1-4 in the SEC and 2-6 on the season.
The Rangers outshot the Wolfpack 33-21.
Aubree Laska took the loss in goal but stopped 31 of 33 shots.
Park skates back-to-back games against North St. Paul/Tartan Thursday and Saturday, the first game at North Polar Arena, the second at Cottage Grove Ice Arena Saturday starting at 3:15 p.m.
East Ridge 6, Park 3
Undefeated East Ridge broke a three-all tie with three straight goals to close out the game and take a 6-3 win over Park Tuesday at the Health East Sports Center.
The host Raptors and Wolfpack were tied at 3-all early in the third period but East Ridge dominated the final minutes for the Suburban East Conference victory.
Park played catch up the entire game, trailing 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2, but closed each time before the final Eats Ridge surge. After Natalie Post tied the game at 3-all in the third period at the 5:52 mark, East Ridge took a 403 lead 42 seconds later. The Raptors then put the game away with two more goals in the next nine minutes.
Lauren Osland and Alaina Post also scored goals for the Wolfpack. Osland added two assists in the game and Josie Leonard got the other.
Park outshot the Raptors 38-19 but couldn’t match the hosts in getting the puck in the net.
East Ridge improved to 4-0 in the Suburban East Conference and 6-0 on the season. Park slipped to 1-4 in the SEC and 3-4 overall.
