Three Park gymnasts place at state meet

Park freshman Rainna Jameson, senior Leah Smith and junior Ashley Lentz all placed in the 2022 Class AA individual state gymnastics meet Saturday.

Competing at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St Paul, Jameson and Smith placed in the uneven bars, while Lentz placed in the vault.

Jameson finished 30th on the bars with a score of 8.7500. Smith capped her high school career with a 37th place finish on the bars with a score of 8.5875.

Lentz was 48th in the vault with vaults of 8.7 and 7.95.

Tyler Schaefer of St. Cloud won the individual all-around title with a score of 38.2000. She finishes first on the floor exercise, the vault and the balance beam as well.

Wayzata won the Class AA team title. Stillwater was fourth and Rosemount seventh.

Hockey team falls in regular season finale Park dropped a 6-1 non-conference decision to host Tartan at Tartan Arena Thursday to finish the regular season.

Tartan (14-9-1) got off to a 3-0 start and led 4-1 after two periods.

Samuel Janski scored Park’s only goal on an even strength play just into the second period. Brady Strand and Jackson Rudh earned assists on the play.

Park actually outshot Tartan 37-34 but managed just the one goal.

The fifth-seeded Wolfpack skate into Section 3AA quarterfinal play at fourth-seeded Rosemount (11-13-1) Tuesday. Starting at 7 p.m. The winner advanced to the semifinals and a likely date against top-seeded Cretin- Durham Hall (21-3) Friday at Braemar.

The Wolfpack finished 13-10-1 overall and 5-7-1 in the Suburban East Conference, finishing fifth.

Thunderbolts go 1-1 in floor hockey

The South Washington County Thunderbolts went 1-1 in two varsity floor hockey games last week.

The Thunderbolts lost to Dakota United 7-4 Tuesday, then scored an 8-7 victory over South Suburban on Wednesday.

South Washington (2-4) wraps up the regular season with a game at winless Owatonna Wednesday.
