Girls’ soccer
Park saved the best for last Thursday with a dominating 8-0 win over visiting Irondale in girls’ soccer.
Park finished the regular season 2-7 in the Suburban East Conference and 6-10 overall. Next up for the Wolfpack is section play. Park will host Bloomington Jefferson (4-9-2) Tuesday in a match starting at 7:30 p.m. The winner of that game will play Thursday.
The Wolfpack’s outing against Irondale was, by far, Park’s best offensive showing of the season. Prior to Thursday’s game, Park’s highest scoring game was four, which the Wolfpack did three times.
Megan Maloney slammed in three goals and Kenzie Harer had two to lead Park’s offensive onslaught. Ava Reckinger and Tori Stepka also scored for the Wolfpack. Megan Korth had two assists.
The win – which wrapped up the regular season — also snapped a three game losing streak by the Wolfpack.
Irondale finished winless in the conference at 0-9 and 0-15 on the season.
