Girls’ tennis

Park went 1-2 in the final week of the regular season of girls tennis.

The Wolfpack were edged by Simley 4-3 to open the week, swamped Forest Lake 5-2 Tuesday, then were blanked by a strong visiting Mounds View team 7-0 Thursday.

Park’s best match of the week came at Forest Lake where the Wolfpack split the singles and won all of the doubles.

Winning for Park against the Rangers were Kate Townsend at No. 1 singles (6-1, 6-1), Avrie Morris at No. 2 singles (7-5, 6-0), Hannah Holmgren and Abby Fjelsta at No. 1 doubles (6-0, 6-3), Luise Meier and Morgan Leick at No. 2 doubles (7-5, 6-4) and Finley Leick and Jenna Mahnke at No. 3 doubles (6-7, 6-3, 7-5).

Park was seeded seventh of 16 teams in section play and drew a first-round bye Monday. The Wolfpack were scheduled to play at home Tuesday against the winners of tenth-seeded Rosemount and 15th seeded Tartan.

Cross country

Parker Hahn led Park’s cross country boys team to a thirdplace finish Friday in the Red Wing Invitational Friday. Hahn finished fifth in a time of 17:22 in the boys 5K run. Park was third out of eight teams with 94 points. Owatonna won the meet with just 30 points, followed by Northfield, 87; Park, 94; East Ridge, 110; and Red Wing, 111.

Gavin Stauffer of the Wolfpack was eighth in 17:59. Sam Larson was 30th in 19:00, Justin Kasa, 40th in 19:22, Joey Chilton, 41st in 19:25 and Brandon Carver 51st in 20:08.

Ava Radel of Park finished 43rd in the girls 5K race in 24:05.

The Wolfpack runs in the Simley Invitational Saturday, starting at 3:30 p.m.

Boys’ soccer

Visiting Mounds View took a 2-0 victory from Park Thursday in Suburban East Conference boys soccer.

The Wolfpack slipped to 1-2-4 in the conference and 4-3-6 on the season.

Park wraps up the regular season Thursday with a home game against Irondale (1-5-1, 3-8-1), starting at 7 p.m.

Girls’ soccer

Rosemount rolled up a 0-0 win against the visiting Park Wolfpack in girls soccer Saturday.

It was Park’s seventh loss in eight games. The Wolfpack fell to 1-6-0 in the Suburban East Conference and 5-9 on the season.

Mounds View blanked the host Wolfpack 4-0 in another SEC game Thursday.

Park hosts Irondale (0-7, 0-11) Thursday in the final game of the regular season, starting at 5 p.m.
