Young volleyballers absorbed some net lessons at the Park volleyball skills and team camp, which was held July 12 through July 29.
“The camp is set up to focus on skill development,” said new Park head volleyball coach Amy Johnson. “The middle school camp really does focus on breaking down the skills and learn the correct way to do each skill and then work on 6 on 6 play with the focus on three contacts per side.
“The high school camp spends the first week focusing on skills, then in the second week the focus is one putting the skills together in game like situations,” Johnson added. “Then the last week is focused on 6 on 6 strategy development.”
Tryouts for the Park High School volleyball team start Monday, Aug. 16. The first week of competition will be the week of Aug. 31.
