The Park Wolfpack Wrestling team drew a familiar opponent in the section quarterfinals, as they would face off with the Sibley Warriors. The Wolfpack had previously defeated the Warriors 45-33 in their regular season dual meet. The winner of this dual would face top seeded Hastings in the section semifinals.

Park has been strong all year at the lower weigh classes and they would continue to impress as the Wolfpack jumped out to a 22-0 lead after four matches. Park had also won the first four matches in their previous dual with Sibley. That day Park won four of the final 10 matches to hold on for the victory. Unfortunately for the Wolfpack, in the rematch they would win just two of the final 10 matches as the Warriors would win the section dual by a score of 48-34.

“Tonight, didn’t go in our favor. Last time we wrestled them we wrestled really well, and we are pretty good down below. A little disappointing, we were hoping to get another match up against Hastings. Now on to individual and concentrate on that for next week, and then the top four advance from next Thursday to the super section that’s Stillwater. I guess Section four, so. We’re hoping to send 5-7 guys into the super section and hopefully sent a couple kids to state.” said co-head coach Jim Labrosse,
