Wolfpack wrestlers went
3-for-3 in the Park Duals Friday, sweeping the legs out from Centennial 49–
30, Two Rivers 66-12 and Irondale 57-23.
Park ninth grader Zach Carr ranked ninth at 120, and sophomore Gunnar Mullen, ranked seventh at
145, both had three pins in the four-team meet.
“I’m happy with our team, wrestling hard,” said Mullen. “I felt our team did pretty well.
“I’m happy with where I’m at right now,” Mullen added. “I feel I’ve had a pretty good season so far. I’ve wrestled hard, I’ve worked hard.”
Landon Brooks ranked seventh at 113 pounds, had a pin and a 12-2 decision. Alex Carr, ranked eighth at
182, scored two pins and a tight 4-3 win.
“They all came out ready to go. I mean Two Rivers is a section match and Irondale the next match in the conference so a lot of individual accolades on the line,” said Park coach Jim LaBrosse. “They all just went out and wrestled really well. A lot of fire and just tell them be ready to go and get that first takedown and set the tone and that’s what they did.”
Park’s third match, against Centennial was a little bit of a payback for the Wolfpack who lost the last time they met.
Irondale edged Two Rivers 37-34 and Centennial clobbered Irondale 53-15 in the meet’s other finals.
Park hosts Cretin-Derham Hall, Roseville and No. 7 Stillwater in a quad meet Wednesday, starting at 5 p.m.
