Practice got under way in earnest this week for varsity teams in 10 spring sports and hundreds of Park High athletes.
Boys' volleyball, starting its first varsity season, opens with a game at Hope Community Academy on Thursday, March 27. The Wolfpack will be in action in a six-team scrimmage at Woodbury Saturday morning. Park fielded a club team last season, but this season will be playing a MSHSL schedule. The league’s website has 91 boys' volleyball teams listed, up from 81 registered in 2024 when it was still a club sport.
Other sports kicking off the opening week of the spring sports season are boys and girls track on Thursday, March 27, with an indoor time trial meet at Hastings; softball on Monday, March 31 with a home game against White Bear Lake; and boys' tennis on Tuesday, April 1 with a match at St. Paul Harding.
Baseball‘s first game is Friday, April 4 at Hastings.
The South Washington County Thunderbolts open their softball season Tuesday, April 8 against Prior Lake/Chanhassen/Chaska/Shakopee at Twin Oaks Middle School in Prior Lake.
Rounding out the openers are girls' lacrosse starting Friday, April 18 at Simley, boys' lacrosse on Saturday, April 19 at Simley and boys and girls golf on Monday, April 21, the boys at North Oaks and the girls at Eagle Valley Golf.
