The Washington County Historical Society (WCHS) is excited to announce a program highlighting Washington County’s fallen soldiers in the Vietnam War on December 17 at 7pm.
The presentation will by given by WCHS member Herb Reckinger, a volunteer with the Vietnam Traveling Wall. The presentation will highlight stories from Washington County’s own who died serving the United States in the Vietnam War. Reckinger will show images from The Wall of Faces and the story of how The Wall came to be. The Traveling Wall is a three-quarter size replica of the monument in Washington D.C. that travels to communities all over the country, giving those who are unable to travel to the nation’s capital a chance to remember their family members and friends who were killed.
This event is free to the public and no reservations are required. Event attendees may attend either in-person at the Washington County Heritage Center or virtually on YouTube.
