Following a successful inaugural season, the River Valley Chorale, a community choir serving Hastings, MN and the surrounding communities, is recruiting singers for our upcoming 2nd season! The ensemble is especially seeking male voices to join the ensemble in its Tenor and Bass sections. Join us as we get started on an exciting year of choral music!
This choral ensemble welcomes everyone as we seek to celebrate the joy and impact of vocal music, while building new relationships and fostering a creative and inclusive musical environment for our community members.
The River Valley Chorale is open to high school students and adults of all ages from Hastings and the surrounding communities. The choir will rehearse on Thursday evenings during the academic year, from 7-8:45 p.m. at the Hastings Middle School, with rehearsals starting on Thursday, September 11, 2025. The upcoming performance season will consist of several concerts in the fall, winter, and spring, along with a new, cabaret-style fundraising event. The ensemble will cover a variety of musical styles, genres, and content throughout the performance season.
People interested in becoming new members of the choir should sign up to complete a vocal screening for placement and to assess musical skill level. Singers of all levels and abilities are encouraged to participate. The ability to read music is helpful, but not required. You may find more information about the choir and schedule your vocal screening by going to tinyurl.com/RiverValleyChorale.
The River Valley Chorale is under the artistic direction of Hastings native, Ryan McCoy, and the organizing committee is chaired by Kathy Warren, with members Sarah Lockwood, Carolyn Campfield, Margaret Goderstad, Monica Laust, and Rosalie Cavis.
