The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help as detectives investigate the death of a 40-year-old man whose body was found in the Mississippi River near Inver Grove Heights.
Timothy Bryan Standish Jr., 40, was found deceased in the river on Aug. 14, according to a statement released by the Sheriff’s Office Monday, Aug. 17.
Investigators said Standish was known to have lived in the Stevens Square neighborhood in the Minneapolis area. Detectives are now trying to learn more about his friends, associates and recent activities.
“Even the smallest detail may be important,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
Authorities have not released additional information about the circumstances surrounding Standish’s death, citing the sensitive nature of the investigation and respect for Standish and his loved ones.
Anyone who knew Standish, or who has information about his recent activities or people he associated with, is asked to contact the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 651-438-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted through the county’s online suspicious death tip form.
