If there is any time for a fitness club to shut down and expand, it certainly was over the winter of 2020-21. Snap Fitness of Cottage Grove expanded their gym area and updated their equipment. On Friday, March 12th, Mayor Myron Bailey, Councilmember Dave Theide and Chamber of Commerce Representative Lauri Levine joined the folks from Snap Fitness to hold a grand reopening ceremony.
This location recently changed ownership as well and is now a corporate store. Snap has their corporate location based right here in the Twin Cities. Mayor Bailey appreciates that local connection.
“The new ownership actually really helps tie this club to Cottage Grove even in a stronger way than it has in the past,” said Mayor Bailey.
During Mayor Bailey’s six-minute presentation, he also talked about the increased level of service available at Snap. They have added fitness options, enhanced innovation and technology, and higher quality equipment.
The club felt fresh and clean, was brightly lit with TVs/ monitors scattered throughout, dozens of machines and some open floor space for stretching and yoga. The newest feature is their Fitness on Demand room. This room features a turf surface for various workouts that you might normally do outside.
Before he turned the floor over to Snap Vice President Brian Tietz, Mayor Bailey concluded with, “We’re really, really excited to have you here. So, I on behalf of myself, and frankly the rest of the city council, citizens of Cottage Grove, thank you for investing in our community. And thank you for being here with us today and expanding your business.”
“We’ve spent the last couple months getting the club put together the way that it really needs to be and represent the community as a place for people to come and do their exercise and fitness. You see this last year has been crazy with COVID and we wanted to keep this place humming it’s like you said it’s been with the organization for a long time. So we’re super excited to be a part of it and have it be corporately owned, as well as our new management team with Hazel and Libby running it from the ground level. So, thanks. Thanks everybody,” Tietz said.
The club is located at 8700 E Point Douglas Rd S. Which is between Cub and Menards. They are open 24/7 for members. To become a member, contact the location at 651-769-2944 Monday through Friday during the day or email [email protected]
