Park’s 14th-ranked softball team had a roller-coaster kind of week, starting with lopsided wins over Benilde-St. Margaret’s and Mounds View/Irondale sandwiched around a tough 1-0 loss at fifth-ranked White Bear Lake.

Monday’s scheduled game at Cretin-Derham Hall was rescheduled for April 13.

Park plays a trio of SEC foes this week, going to Roseville (0-3, 0-4) Wednesday, hosts undefeated, third-ranked and league-leading Forest Lake (4-0, 7-0) in a key showdown Friday, then meets Woodbury (1-3, 3-4) at Cottage Grove on Monday, all games at 4:30 p.m.

Four Suburban East Conference teams are ranked in this week’s poll: Forest Lake is No. 3, White Bear Lake No. 5, Stillwater No. 13 and Park No. 14

Park 12, Benilde-St. Margaret’s 2

The host Wolfpack rolled to a second straight impressive outing to open the 2026 season dispatching visiting Benilde-St. Margaret’s 12-2 in a non-conference contact at Cottage Grove Wednesday.

Park ripped off nine runs in the first inning, including a three-run homer by Mackenzie Darsow, back-to-back doubles by Ava Youngquist and two singles by Addie Corkish and Stella Fritsche.

White Bear Lake 1, Park 0

Undefeated White Bear Lake took a 1-0 win over visiting Park in Suburban East Conference softball at White Bear Lake Thursday.

The Wolfpack loaded the bases with one out in the seventh inning, but the next two Park batters struck out to end the game.

“It was a heck of a game,” said Park head coach Tony Young. “We had opportunities to win it. We left bases loaded. We had bases loaded in the top of the seventh, one out … but we had opportunities. It’s a great opportunity to learn early in the season because I don’t think our energy was nearly where it needed to be to win that game. And with that it’s a great learning experience. We’ll be back. White Bear Lake has a tough pitcher and Ava pitched a heck of a game.”

Park 10, Mounds View 0

Park opened with two runs in the first inning then added seven more in the third to cruise to an easy win over visiting Mounds View/Irondale on Friday.

Ava Youngquist got the Wolfpack started after she ripped a two-run home run after leadoff batter Stella Fritsche opened the game with a double.

“I think we’re sticking together as a team and we’re hitting the ball really well, it’s like a continuous lineup, and our defense was great and put pitchers are pitching great,” said Fritsche. “I think we just need to close out the games better. The ones that we’re up, we just need to close them out and if we’re down we just fight back and keep fighting.”

In the third, Park put the game away as six of seven straight Wolfpack batters connected, including run-scoring hits by Alayna Adamez, Allyson Grobner and Maddie Boothe.

“I think really sticking together as a team all the way through the whole game is going to our big change, said Grobner.

Park pitcher Youngquist struck out 10 Mounds View/Irondale batters, including three straight to end the first and wo straight to end the second and fourth innings.

“All the girls got in, we made defensive plays, we hit the ball really good early on, we struggled a little bit later when they brought in somebody who really didn’t throw as hard what we’re used to,” said Young.
