The suburbs like to think that drugs on the street is a big city problem, but that has not been true for decades. It’s still a shock to the system when citizens hear of a larger drug bust happening in their neighborhood. Monday Morning, that very thing happened in St. Paul Park. According to a post on social media, Officers made a traffic stop on a vehicle for several traffic violations sometime Monday mvhvorning. Official details are not yet available due to the ongoing investigation, but what we do know is, Officers gathered 29 grams of Methamphetamine, approximately $11,000 in cash and a loaded firearm. The FBI fact sheet states that the minimum mandatory Federal sentence for possession of just five grams of meth is 5-40 years. 50 grams is 10 years to life. That puts in to perspective that 29 grams is a big deal.
