Struggles continue for baseball team

A long season for the Park Wolfpack got longer as the Wolfpack dropped all three games last week and then fell again on Monday to visiting Mounds View, 5-3.

Last week was a tough one as the Wolfpack lost twice to conference-leading and second-ranked Cretin-Derham Hall, 6-3 and 5-4 on Wednesday and Thursday, and then falling at Irondale 9-1 on Friday.

Park slipped 2-10 in the Suburban East Conference and 2-11 on the season.

The Wolfpack play at East Ridge (4-8, 6-8) Wednesday, host Roseville (2-10, 2-12) Friday, the go to Woodbury (7-5, 9-5) on Monday, May 12. All games with 4:30 p.m. starts.

Bonin paces Park boys in SEC meet

Tyler Bonin shot a 73 to finish sixth overall and lead the Wolfpack boys in a Suburban East Conference meet Monday.

Charles Looker carded a 76, Michael Destasio a 77, Eli Daly a 78, Mac Muluski a 79 and Drew Theurer a 94.

Park finished fourth in the nine-team race with a score of 304. Cretin-Derham Hall won with a 277, followed by White Bear Lake, 300; East Ridge, 303; Park, 304; Mounds View 312 and four others.

Offenhauser leads Park girl golfers

Aspyn Offenhauser shot a career low 95 to lead the Park golfers in a 14-team invitational April 25 at Lake City Golf Course.

Gabby Stepka had a 98 for the Wolfpack, Becca Rugless and Elsie Corrigan both shot 101s, while Elizabeth Chilton and Olivia Korpi bagged 104s.

Park finished three shots off breaking the top 10 with a 395 team score.

Last Monday’s match at North Oaks was cancelled due to weather and may be replayed at a later date.

Thunderbolts score adapted softball win

After two close losses, the South Washington County Thunderbolts responded with a big win in adapted softball, taking out visiting Mahtomedi/Stillwater 17-6 in a game at East Ridge April 29.

The Thunderbolts moved to 3-2 on the season.

Park tennis loses a close one

Park narrowly lost 4-3 at Como Park Monday in one of the closest boys' tennis matches of the season for the Wolfpack.

Winners for the Wolfpack Monday were Tyler McKeague 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 singles, Will Taylor 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4 singles and the No. 3 doubles team of Collin Price and Liam Shannon 6-4, 6-2.

Park lost to Woodbury 6-1 on Friday, fell to St. Paul Central 5-2 and then to Rosemount 7-0 in the Cottage Grove Invitational on Saturday.

McKeague was Park’s lone winner against Woodbury, taking the No. 3 singles match 6-3, 6-4. Against St. Paul Central on Saturday, Taylor won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3 singles and Park’s third doubles team of Zach Norgaard and Collin Price won 6-3, 4-6, (10-2)

Park plays at East Ridge Thursday, then hosts Roseville on Friday.
