WOODBURY – At 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 2023 Christ Episcopal Church of Woodbury will host “Sweden and Norway 2023: A Concert Through the Eyes of a Photographer and Musician, Featuring Chris Falteisek.” Christ Episcopal Church is located at 7305 Afton Road in Woodbury. All are welcome and invited to attend this concert. A free-will offering will be taken.

Falteisek, Minister of Music at Christ Episcopal Church of Woodbury, recently spent five weeks in Norway and Sweden on a Nordic pilgrimage to experience the life, music, and customs of his ancestral homelands of Norway and Sweden. Falteisek’s home bases while overseas were in Lindesberg, Sweden, Ottestad, Norway and Alvdal, Norway. Anecdotes, insights, stories, customs, music, pictures, and videos of Falteisek’s travels to Norway and Sweden will be a part of this presentation. Music will include his own Nordic-inspired compositions as well as traditional and folk Nordic music.

Falteisek, a native of Prescott, Wis., and resident of Hastings, Minn., started playing organ and piano for church as a sixth grader. He currently works as Minister of Music at Christ Episcopal Church of Woodbury and is an accompanist at both St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Hastings and St. Thomas Aquinas Church in St. Paul Park. He has composed and recorded 17 albums. His musical performances have taken him to Sweden, Norway and around the United States. Falteisek’s musical style is eclectic and mirrors his love of various historical periods and places.
