Holiday cookie baking season is upon us, and there is hardly a better way to deepen our experience with this tradition than to join Dodge naturalists at the new Education Center at Shepard Farm from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16 to learn about the origins and traditions associated with holiday cookies.
Participants will learn about the plants that become the various spices and extracts used to flavor seasonal cookie favorites. Sample various kinds of cookies, including America’s first Christmas cookie, and decorate your own cookies to take home. Learning was never so delicious.
Please note that cookies will contain potential allergen ingredients like wheat flour, eggs, nuts, and milk.
This program is for adults 16 and over. The cost is $25 per participant. Pre-registration is required. Registration typically closes the day before the program at noon. Program fees are final, and transfers are not permitted.
Shepard Farm is located at 8946 70th St. S. in Cottage Grove.
