Three hockey teams from Cottage Grove will represent the area at state tournament competition this weekend, each in their respective bracket.
Bantam A will head to Virginia Minnesota, while PeeWeeA will compete at Shakopee and PeeWeeB1 at Cloquet.
The Bantam A team secured their trip to state with a 4-2 victory over Mankato, following wins against Northfield 5-4 and Apple Valley/Burnsville 2-1 at Waseca Community Arena in Waseca to advance to state as the Number 1 seed.
The PeeWeeA team defeated Marshall 5-1 after wins against Mankato (3-1) and Litchfield-Dassel-Cokato at Cottage Grove Ice Arena in Cottage Grove to advance to state as the Number 1 seed.
The PeeWee B1 team secured its state trip after defeating Mankato Black 6-5 along with Northfield 6-3 and Mankato White at Graham Arena in Rochester, thus advancing to state in the Number 2 seed.
State tournaments for each run from March 15-17.
