Park has three veterans returning to lead this spring’s girls’ golf team, senior Taylar Nadler, junior Maggie Jensen and Becca Rugless. All played extensively last season, with Nadler and Jensen earning all-conference honors.
Jensen routinely shot in the low 40s last season, while Nadler and Rugless also carded scores in the 40s.
After that trio, however, the lineup is still in flux.
There’s a “platoon” of four to six golfers who will vie for spots on the varsity, including Natalie Post, Alain Wright and Riley Klinke, said Park coaches Bay Shock and Jay Jensen.
“We’re going to have to figure out who can score as No. 4,” said Shock.
Park was fifth in the conference race last season and with their experienced golfers coming back, the team is hoping to move up to possibly third or fourth.
The lingering winter and wet grounds wiped out the first week of golf season. Park is scheduled to open play in a four-team meet at the Eagle Valley Golf in Woodbury on Friday, April 14, starting at noon.
