The Grey Cloud Town Board awarded the bid for 105th Street to Bituminous Roadways Inc. of Mendota Height Sept. 9, following the recommendation of WSB Project Engineer Nick Guilliams. The successful bid for $190,150.02 included $22,00 for alternate 1, betting out three other bids for the roadway. All bids were checked for mathematical accuracy.
Bid to accept was made by Supervisor Richard Polta seconded by Jake Jones. The bid represents a substantial reduction from earlier this year, when it was estimated that the road would cost $430,000, the township also planning for work on Grey Cloud Island Drive.
“Just for the resident’s information the road will stay as it is,” Polta said of 105th. “That triangle corner will stay as it is and then blacktop will go down just a little further than it is now. Basically we’ll be putting back what’s there.”
The next town board meeting for Grey Cloud Township is planned Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
