Owls & Ales
5:45-8 p.m. – Carpenter Nature Center and Spiral Brewery, Hastings
Space is limited. Reservations and pre-payment are required. To register please call 651-437-4359 or register online. Fee: $25 per person and includes a hike and one beer flight, light snacks, and guided tasting. Enjoy an after-hours hike in the scenic St. Croix River Valley at Carpenter Nature Center. After our eyes adjust, we will head out on the trail to listen for some of Minnesota’s native owl species. After our Owl Prowl adventure, we will join the staff at Spiral Brewery for a guided tour of the flagship flavors and styles of their beers on tap in the taproom. The tasting includes a beer flight for each participant and a Spiral staff member leading a discussion around each beer sample. Must be 21 years of age or older to participate.

Blizzard Bash
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park, 9653 Keats Ave. S., Cottage Grove
Sample the best of winter at the Blizzard Bash. Regardless of the amount of snow, the wonder of the season is alive and well. Bring your furry friends along for a leisurely stroll amidst the frosty landscape. Participate in an ice fishing program from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (weather dependent). Enjoy a self-guided story stroll set up Washington County Library. Join us for a day of fun recreation activities including: arts and crafts, free use of snowshoes and kick sleds, bonfire, and food trucks.
Winter Fun Fest
2-5 p.m. – Dodge Nature Center Main Property, 1701 Charlton St., West St. Paul
Come on down to Dodge for a free, all-outdoor community event. As snow conditions allow, arctic activities will include snowshoeing, kick sledding, boot hockey, ice mini golf and bowling, otter slides, and more. Enjoy reindeer and horse-drawn trolley rides. Join the medallion hunt for your chance to win a prize package! Plus: bonfires, music, and food and beverages for purchase while you are enjoying the winter fun. This event is for all ages and free to the public.
