“My parents were public school teachers, so a love for lifelong learning, children, and teaching, is in my DNA,” Holst says in her brief introduction video at www.swctc. org. Running with Jaime Kokaisel, Eric Tessmer, and Marge Linberg as a common sense candidate, Holst has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and has taught kindergarten as well, moving to Woodbury with her husband 25 years ago. With children who received an “excellent education” in South Washington County School, Holst shared more on her belief in fiscal responsibility.
“I believe we need to be wise about where and how we spend our tax dollars,” Holst shared recently. “We need to keep programs that are benefitting our students and must pivot from those programs that are doing students a disservice,” she says, giving her teaching experience as a reason to earn resident’s votes November 2.
