“I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome the Cottage Grove Journal to town! We’re so excited to have a local newspaper again! Thank you!” Folks, if I’ve heard this once, I’ve heard it a thousand times…well maybe not a thousand times just yet, but we’re excited to report that our database is filling up with more and more of your names and addresses each week.

The first week, I’ll admit was a little slower than I had anticipated, but a lot of that may have been due to the backlog at the United States Postal Service. We’re fine with our subscriptions taking a backseat to your ballot! And now that you’ve voted for all the important local and national offices, I hope you’ll “vote” for your new hometown newspaper the Cottage Grove Journal.

We appreciate the touching notes sent in by subscribers, and we love to hear your stories. We’re excited to start telling them and delivering on the news of this community that is welcoming us so warmly. Sure, it makes it more difficult to do business in a pandemic, especially one that left behind scores of communities that no longer had a local newspaper.

Please continue to let us know how we can help the community, and please continue to spread the word!

We’re excited to grow with you, Cottage Grove!
