Cottage Grove Farmers Market, 2:30-6:30 p.m., United Church of Christ parking lot, 7008 Lamar Ave S., Cottage Grove. The market has fresh fruit and vegetables, local honey, fair trade coffee, free-range eggs, jams, jellies, and salsa’s, flower bouquets, handmade soaps, lotions and healing balms, hand crafted jewelry and more. Staple food trucks that typically come every week such as the Egg Roll Queen and Pigs Unlimited. 

Friday, Sept. 1  

Movies with Mo, 6:30-11 p.m., Highlands Park 6975 Idsen Ave. S., Cottage Grove. Join Movies with Mo for “Raya and the Last Dragon.” This event includes kid’s activities, food trucks and more at Highlands Park. Each night, the fun starts at 6:30 p.m., and the movie starts at dusk. Grab your picnic blankets and chairs and get ready for a fun night. 

Saturday. Sept. 2 

Hamlet Park Parkrun – Weekly 5K, 9-10 a.m., Hamlet Park, 8883 Hamlet Ave S, Cottage Grove. New this year to Cottage Grove is the parkrun program! Park runs are free weekly community events held all around the world taking place every Saturday morning in parks and open spaces. parkrun events are 5ks and are meant to be a positive, welcoming and inclusive experience for all. There is no time limit, and no one finishes last. Whether you walk, jog, run volunteer or spectate, you are welcome to join us every Saturday at Hamlet Park for a parkrun.

Saturday & Sunday, Sept. 2-3 

One Family Fest, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Kingston Park, 9195 75th St. S., Cottage Grove. This Labor Day weekend, swing by “One Family Fest” at Kingston Park in Cottage Grove to taste some delicious street eats and cultural cuisines and shop the vendor fair. One Family is a nonprofit organization that hosts annual Memorial Day and Labor Day Sports Fests here in Cottage Grove. They bring a variety of food trucks with them for everyone to enjoy. NEW this year is the vendor fair. Browse handcrafted items, goodies and services from local makers and businesses. Grab a picnic blanket or pop up a chair while you sample food and cheer on the teams playing. Whether you want to cheer on the corn hole, soccer or volleyball teams, sample the food trucks, or just enjoy a day at the park, One Family invites you to Kingston Park to spend Labor Day weekend with them. 

Sunday, Sept. 3 

Dungeons & Dragons in the Ravine, noon to 5 p.m., Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park, 9653 Keats Ave. S., Cottage Grove. Bring your dice and character to venture forth and test your mettle against monsters and magic in the D&D adventure: Waterdeep: Dragon Heist. First come, first serve. Must be 18 years or over. Cap of six players for each session. Please only commit if you can make it for multiple sessions. As this is an ongoing campaign, you would ideally want to come to every session. Registration is required. Email Rebecca.jones@co.washington.mn.us. A vehicle permit is required, $7 daily or $30 annually. 

Tuesday, Sept. 5 

Open Play Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Ravine Landing (Multipurpose Room), 9653 Keats Ave. S., Cottage Grove. Come by the Multipurpose room in the Ravine Landing building to play games from our board game library, read a book from our free library, or work on a puzzle with a great view of the park! All are welcome. A vehicle permit is required, $7 daily or $30 annually. 

Wednesday, Sept. 6 

Bingo! At the Muddy Cow, 7 p.m., Muddy Cow 7350 Hardwood Ct. S., Cottage Grove. Join the Muddy Cow in Cottage Grove every Wednesday at 7 p.m. for Bingo. Enjoy their everyday 2-4-1 special on drinks while you play. Get there early to grab a a delicious bite to eat before the game begins.
