The Cottage Grove City Council was expected to approve a change of venue and date for the Cottage Grove Area Chamber raffle that was to accompany its Evening of Excellence Event.
The Evening of Excellence was to be held Nov. 5 at the John F. Furber Farm, 7310 Lamar Ave. S.
Because of COVID-19, that event is cancelled.
“Due to COVID-19 and liabilities for the Cottage Grove Area Chamber of Commerce, we are no longer having our Evening of Excellence event in person,” a request to the city from Chamber Past President Kelli Ann Mickelson states. “For the purposes of an extended selling duration and change in location, we are submitting a change as follows.
“We would like to change the date of the raffle drawing to be Tuesday, Dec. 15,2020 at 4 p.m. at the Cottage Grove Area Chamber of Commerce office located at 8617 W. Point Douglas Road Suite 150.”
Minnesota Gambling Control Board rules required the city to approve the request.
Director of Public Safety Peter Koerner recommended city council approval of the chamber request.
