Park’s Wolfpack go sweet revenge Friday night with a regular-season-ending 60-48 victory at Woodbury.
The first time Park and Woodbury met this season, it was an embarrassment for the Wolfpack, who lost 65-36 at Cottage Grove back in Jan. 23.
But Friday night was a completely different story. Park pulled away from a tight 29-25 halftime lead, outscoring the host Royals 31-23 after intermission for the 12-point triumph.
Senior guard Caleb Sweet ripped the nets for 24 points to lead the Wolfpack offensively. Aaron Sandin scored 11, Justin Ebbers 9, Peyton Faber 8 and Brandon Bihm 6.
With the win, Park improved to 7-11 in the Suburban East Conference and 11-15 overall. The Wolfpack finished in a four-way tie for fifth in the conference, along with Irondale, Mounds View and White Bear Lake.
Woodbury ended the regular season at 6-12 in the SEC and 9-17 overall.
Park now moves on to section play. The Section 3AAAA matchups were fifth-seeded Eastview (7-19) at fourth-seeded Park (11-15), eighth-seeded Bloomington Jefferson (3-23) at top-seeded Eagan (18-8), seventh-seeded Burnsville (7-19) at second-seeded Rosemount (18-8) and sixth-seeded Hastings (13-13) at third-seeded Apple Valley (16-10). The semifinal games will be played Thursday and the finals on March 12 at the high seeds.
