Young named new Park softball coach

Posted

Tony Young has been hired as the new softball coach at Park High School.
He takes over for Bob Loshek, who led the program for the past 15 years.
“I appreciate everything that Bob has done for our softball program. He has put in a lot of time and energy for our student-athletes over the past 15 years as head coach,” said Phil Kuemmel, Activities Director.
“Coach Young has served as an assistant coach in our softball program for the past eight years. He is also a longtime assistant coach in our girls basketball program,” Kuemmel continued. “Tony has coached softball at every level, from youth to club. He was also a middle school football and wrestling coach in our district.
“Coach Young is a Park graduate who truly bleeds green and loves to mentor the youth in our community,” Kuemmel added. “His familiarity with our softball program, both youth and high school, will benefit him in his transition to head coach. Tony realizes the importance of building relationships with his players and is excited to continue the success that we have had in our softball program. His purpose is to ‘create a positive and competitive environment that will instill a great work ethic and team first mentality, which in turn will create confident young athletes,’ which will help Park’s student-athletes in both softball and life.”
