The Youth Service Bureau is holding its annual gala on Thursday, April 16 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Madison, located at 7310 Lamar Avenue South in Old Cottage Grove.
Open to the public, the Youth Service Bureau Luminara Gala is a special evening dedicated to bringing the community together, featuring a silent auction, great food and an opportunity to connect with others who believe in strengthening the community. The event will include speaker Ted Kozlowski as well.
Funds raised during the gala directly support the Youth Service Bureau’s counseling, family support, and youth development services center, helping ensure that young people and their families can access the resources they need without barriers.
Sold out the last two years, the annual gala costs $75, with readers able to register on the YSB website at ysb.net by clicking the register here button on the main page or by going to the YSB Facebook event where there is a link to purchase tickets at https://one.bidpal.net/ysbgala2026/ticketing
Youth Service Bureau HR and Operations Coordinator Jamie Rodd shared more on what the Youth Service Bureau is about.
“Our Mission is to help youth and families learn the skills they need to be more successful at home, in school, and throughout the community,” she said. “We have been doing this work since 1977 and we offer Therapy Services, Chemical Health support in the Schools as well as a diversion program where kids are held accountable, but given a chance to learn from their mistake instead of going through the Juvenile Justice System. Diversion is where YSB started and evolved into the other departments. Some may not know we also have a Military Family Support Program and you can also hire YSB staff to come do public speaking. The key to all of our services is accessibility. We offer a sliding fee scale allowing families that need our services to access them without barriers.”
