At the last board meeting of the Washington County Historical Society Board of Directors, Dennis Glock, of Stillwater, was appointed to fill the board vacancy created when Becky Pung resigned. Pung moved to Red Wing and will fill a spot on the Board of Directors of the Goodhue County Historical Society.
Glock has a BFA from the School of Visual Arts, New York City, and worked in boutique ad agencies in New York, as well as corporate marking and communications roles in various other states including Minnesota. He is now working in the nonprofit sector. He is also a board member of the Hope House in Stillwater and is a St. Croix Valley and Stillwater Rain Garden Adopter.
He finds the study of history interesting.
“The unique story Stillwater has to tell, as well as the diversity of the town as it has evolved, the multitude of historic home styles, and Stillwater’s connection to the development of the state,” he said.
“Dennis has a background that will help the organization move into the future,” said Executive Director Brent Peterson. “The Historical Society is happy to have such a strong supporter on the Board of Directors.”
Founded in 1934, the Washington County Historical Society is a donor-supported, nonprofit organization with more than 750 individual, family, and business members. WCHS is supported by individual gifts, memberships and earned income, and foundation grants.
