Cottage Grove—On Friday, October 2 at 11:00 a.m., Senators Judy Seeberger (DFL - Afton) and Grant Hauschild (DFL - Hermantown) toured the Cottage Grove Fire Station to discuss the need for further state and federal investment in reliable and equitable emergency medical services across the state.
“We’ve done a lot of work at the Capitol to help our EMS partners, but we know that there is a lot more to do,” Seeberger said. Seeberger currently represents District 41 in the State Senate, including South Washington County outside Woodbury, Newport, and St. Paul Park.
Seeberger and Hauschild were instrumental in recent investments in EMS, including a $30 million emergency aid package, establishing the new state Office of Emergency Services, securing funding for rural ambulances that don’t receive federal reimbursement, and more. Senator Seeberger serves as a firefighter-paramedic for her local fire department and as a paramedic responding to 911 calls with a local ambulance agency.
