Fall in to Autumn at CNC's Apple Festival

Enjoy a two-day celebration of the harvest season at Carpenter Nature Center’s annual Apple Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7 and Sunday, Oct. 8. Admission is free and the event is held rain, snow, or shine. This event includes live music, animal programs, children’s activities, apple tasting, a straw mountain, hay wagon rides (weather permitting) and more.

Watch CNC staff display their expertise as they demonstrate their cider-making abilities throughout the weekend. According to Jennifer Vieth, Carpenter Nature Center’s Executive Director, pick-your-own apples, pumpkin painting, face-painting, grilled apple brats by the Hastings Lions Club and bake sale goodies will also be available for purchase.

Vieth said, “This is the perfect time of year to enjoy some fresh apples and take a stroll among the autumn colors on the nature center’s many trails. CNC’s teaching orchard boasts 14 varieties of apples, many of which are ripe during the first week in October.”

Visitors are also welcome to learn about the animals of the St. Croix River Valley in the CNC Visitor Center. All proceeds from this event support environmental education and habitat conservation. For more information, go to carpenternaturecenter.org/.
