Cottage Grove has a new K9 officer! Now in training with Soldiers 6, a 501 c3 non-profit that provides service dogs to heroes, Riggs is a Golden Retriever who will soon accompany Detective Scott Shaver of the Case Management Unit, to situations where his emotional support can help build trust, thus providing enhanced mental health and therapy support for both city staff and public. Named with help from local residents, Riggs’ addition to the Case Management Unit was made possible through a generous grant from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety’s Office of Justice Program.
