Park’s triple jumpers lead way at SEC meet

Park’s triple jumpers again led the way as the Wolfpack track and field athletes competed in the Suburban East Conference finals Thursday at Forest Lake High School.
Eyuel Miftah was third in the triple jump (43-8) in a personal record. Miftah’s jump ranks seventh on the all-time Park best list. Bryan Wright finished 10th (40-6.5). Miskir Esayas was 15th (39-10.5) in another PR and Skyler Morgan was 21st at 39-3.
Park was 10th in boys the boys and girls team races.
Stillwater won the boys team race with 203 points, followed by 2, Mounds View, 199.5. 3, Roseville, 112.5. 4, Forest Lake, 106. 5, White Bear Lake, 92. 6, Woodbury, 75. 7, Irondale, 74. 8, East Ridge, 66. 9, Cretin-Derham Hall, 36 and 10, Park, 29.
In the girls' events it was 1, Stillwater, 206.5. 2, Mounds View, 169.5. 3, Forest Lake, 167. 4, Roseville, 161. 5, Woodbury, 98. 6, White Bear Lake, 74. 7, East Ridge, 49. 8, Irondale, 39. 9, Cretin-Derham Hall, 16 and 10, Park, 13.
Boys' results
Dominic Jenkins finished the 400 in a personal record time of 50.29. Kroix Pearson was 15th in the 400 (53.58). Fiyinfoluwa Taiwo was 15th in the 100 (11.74). Miskir Esayas was 20th in the 200 (23.46) and 25th in the 100 (11.92). Henry Joa was 22nd in the 800 in 2:07.46 and Jack Weir was 27th in 2:08.63. Eyuel Miftah was eighth in the 300-meter hurdles in 42.46 and 17th in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.39. Cooper Williams placed 19th in the 300 hurdles in 44.04.
Eli Firchau finished 10th in the 3,200 in 10:09.98.
In the relays, Park’s Kody Aikens, Taiwo, Esayas and Kaeden Callais were ninth in the 4x100 in 44.51. The team of Skyler Morgan, Taiwo, Callais and Jenkins finished eighth in the 4x200 (1:31.76). In the 4x400 Park was seventh with Jenkins, Pearson, Weir and Williams finishing in 3:53.54. Park’s 4x800 relay team of Firchau, Joa, Weir and Gavin Stauffer finished sixth in 8:24.62.
“The distance runners ran well,” said Park assistant coach Brad Narveson. “Our 4 x 800 ran 14 seconds faster than our seed time. I’m very happy with how they performed. We had several PR’s which is what we want to see at this time of the season. It’s always great to see kids peaking at the right time.”
Aidan Boche finished ninth in the discus with a throw of 131-10. Park’s Taran Blasy was 19th in the shot put (42-2.75). Hazim King was 11th in the high jump (5-8) and Callais 14th, also at 5-8. Skyler Morgan took 12th in the long jump at 19-9.75.
Girls' results
Pajyeeb Kong took sixth in the shot put with a personal record throw of 35-3.5. Zoey Bammert-Mueller was 12th at 32-8.25. Karis Waindim finished sixth in the discus throw at 101-0, another PR. Bammert-Mueller was 14th with a throw of 93-3 and Alayna Luu was 17th at 91-10.
Hailey Kieffer finished 12th in the high jump at 4-6. Annelise Faletti was 12th in the triple jump (32-9.5).
Susan Mbu was 18th in the 100-neters (13.39), 17th in the 400 (1:04.63) and 17th in the pole vault (8-0). Ameenah Alowonle was 23rd in the 200 (28.26). Annelise Faletti finished 13th in the 400 (1:03.85). Elizabeth Ayala was 21st in the 100-meter hurdles (18.78). Hailey Kieffer took 23rd in the 300-meter hurdles (53.05).
Park’s 4x200 team of Kylee Nickle, Madeline Finstad, Caroline Faust and Annelise Faletti finished sixth in 1:49.76. Park’s Mbu, Faletti, Mickle and Faust finished ninth in the 4x400 in 4:19.69.
