Cottage Grove, Minn. – On Saturday, March 9, delegates gathered at the Historic Furber Farm in Cottage Grove to endorse candidates for House Districts 41A and 41B. These are open seats, as Republican incumbents Mark Wiens and Shane Hudella are not running for re-election.
In 41B, delegates unanimously endorsed business owner Tom Dippel. Delegates enthusiastically
voiced their support for Dippel as he announced his intention to work with community members to keep 41B in Republican hands.
In 41A, delegates voted to endorse former legislative aide and current First Officer of the St
Croix River Cruise Company, Grayson McNew. Grayson declared his intent to meet with every
voter possible before election day, later telling delegates that “we must bring young and energetic voters into our party.”
Senate District 41 GOP Chair William Beck applauded the results, saying that “delegates spoke
loud and clear, today. We are united as a party and are ready to deliver for voters in November.”
All three candidates who competed for the Republican Endorsement signed pledges stating their intent to abide by it.
The endorsement pledge states the candidate “will abide by the Republican endorsement process. If I lose the Republican endorsement to another candidate, I will support that candidate to the best of my ability. This means I will not endorse, campaign for or donate to the Democrat candidate. I further pledge that I will not run in or support a primary campaign against the endorsed candidate or any endorsed candidate in 2024.”
