Share your feedback on Washington County’s proposed Climate Action Plan goals, objectives, and strategies by taking a short survey, open now through May 25.
Washington County is developing a Climate Action Plan through community input, research and analysis, and collaboration with experts and stakeholders. This plan will define the county’s role in climate action, outline action steps to reduce the county’s greenhouse gas emissions, and illustrate strategies to adapt to the impacts of climate change.
The five-to-seven-minute-long survey will help the county better understand if the proposed goals, objectives, and strategies align with the priorities of Washington County community members. The survey is available at SurveyMonkey.com/r/WashCAP.
To draft the Climate Action Plan goals, the county used information gathered from the following sources:
• An “environmental scan” that summarizes previous and ongoing planning efforts and programs related to climate action, both at the county and throughout the region.
• A Climate Conditions and Vulnerability Assessment that reviewed the relative risks of climate-related hazards throughout the county.
• An inventory of greenhouse gas emissions in the county.
• Survey results and direct feedback from community members on their climate change concerns and their priorities related to climate action.
